Aniano Adasa Heritage House

Some old houses in Dapitan date back to American colonial times. Among the famous ones is the Aniano Adasa Heritage House. Built in the early 1900s, the Aniano Adasa Heritage House is an example of a typical urban home in Dapitan for prominent personalities during the early American colonial period. It was constructed for Don Aniano Cadavedo Adaza, a notable political figure who held the position of cabeza de barangay before the Philippine revolution against Spanish rule.

The box-like, two-storey house is all wood which is a departure from the balay na bato dwellings with their stone-covered ground floors that were common during the Spanish occupation. It currently hosts the City Tourism Office on the ground floor.
