Now, make a reverent genuflection in front of the Tabernacle at the center. If you are unable to do it for health reasons, please make a profound bow. The theme of the High Altar is the theophany or the manifestation of the One Triune God: the Father and Creator as symbolized by the hand (see Is. 48:13); the Holy Spirit as symbolized by the dove (Jn 1:32) and the Son who is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament in the Tabernacle (Mt. 26:26).
During the Holy Mass, the Tabernacle is concealed by two sliding panels that reveal the monogram of Santíssimo Nombre de Jesus, the Most Holy Name of Jesus and also the original title of the Archdiocese of Cebu. Notice that all images of the High Altar are oriented towards the Tabernacle, reminding us of the Centrality of Christ in our lives. Please spend some time adoring our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.
