The Golden Cross represents Christ and His Passion; the Golden Star with eight points represents the Virgin Mary, Queen of Martyrs and the Golden Palm Branch, represents the victorious teenage martyr, San Pedro. These symbols are arranged hierarchically on a Blood-Red Field symbolizing martyrdom.
